QA Intern

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Intern to join our engineering team in a hybrid capacity. You will work closely with developers and product managers to ensure our web applications meet high standards of quality and performance. This role offers hands-on experience in software testing, bug tracking, and quality assurance processes within a fast-paced Indian tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases for web and mobile applications to verify functional correctness.

• Write and maintain detailed test cases and test scenarios based on user stories and technical specifications.

• Identify, document, and track bugs using Jira, ensuring clear reproduction steps and severity levels.

• Collaborate with developers to validate fixes and perform regression testing on updated modules.

• Assist in setting up automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver for critical user flows.

• Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint reviews to provide quality feedback on completed features.

• Maintain test data and environments to support consistent and reliable testing cycles.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.

• Proficiency in manual testing techniques including black-box, white-box, and exploratory testing.

• Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to inspect front-end elements.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and ability to use Postman for API testing.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.

Nice to have

• Basic scripting knowledge in Python or Java for simple automation tasks.

• Exposure to Selenium WebDriver or Cypress for UI automation.

• Understanding of database queries using SQL for data validation.

• Previous internship or academic projects involving software testing.
