SDET II

About the role

We are seeking a SDET II to join our engineering team in a hybrid capacity. You will design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks that ensure the reliability of our web applications. This role focuses on integrating testing into the CI/CD pipeline to catch defects early and accelerate release cycles. You will work closely with developers to define quality standards and implement robust validation logic for critical user journeys.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated end-to-end test suites using Playwright for web applications.
• Design and implement API-level tests to validate backend services and data integrity.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enforce quality gates before deployment.
• Optimize test execution time by implementing parallelization strategies and smart test selection.
• Collaborate with developers to write unit and integration tests for new features.
• Monitor test stability and flakiness, implementing retries and robust selectors to reduce false failures.
• Document test coverage metrics and report quality trends to engineering leadership.

Required skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for writing test scripts.
• Strong experience with Playwright for end-to-end and component testing.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies including BDD and TDD.
• Ability to debug complex browser-based issues and network requests.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker for containerizing test environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for test infrastructure.
• Experience with visual regression testing tools.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like k6 or JMeter.

• Achieve 80% automated coverage for critical user flows within six months.
• Reduce regression testing time by 40% through efficient test design.
• Maintain a flake rate below 5% in the automated test suite.
• Enable faster release cycles by providing reliable quality signals in CI.
